Using small sticks, I quickly made 12 prototypes.

I artistically transformed cat photos into 2D flat shapes. These flat shapes were like Tangrams. From these shapes, I extended a side graphic design. The Tangrams pattern was separated from the cats’ posture and made into prints on a handkerchief.

When I was an undergraduate, many cats were scattered around the school. These cats accompanied my life at that time. Each cat had unique characteristics, and its figure was deeply integrated into my life. Inspired by these cats, I designed a chair.

How do I have physical contact with a cat regularly even without having a cat?

Cai, a cool cat in a complex fancy color. She lived a laid-back life at her own pace.

The handkerchief reminded me of my childhood. Tangrams, handkerchief, and cats are all soft and warm existence to me.

Finally, I made a 3D model with Rhino and asked a factory to made it real.

Ideation

Love, companionship, and tenderness can always touch the most vulnerable and sensitive part of my heart. I hope the chair user can experience the warmth, comfort, intimacy, and infinite tenderness between humans and nature, feeling the cuddle from cats. Once you sit on this chair, all the defenses, anxiety, and sadness can be removed, feeling free to enjoy the relaxation. Give your body and mind to her, surrounded by softness, as if floating in the clouds.
